I give this hike a great rating *****. It is 8.9 Miles long with an elevation increase of 1,299. It is pretty well maintained and the trail is mostly clear to see. I would not recommend this hike to a first time hiker, however, if you really want to take a stab at it, take it slow and bring plenty of water. Also be sure to have really good hiking shoes that you have worn before. You never want to go on a long hike in shoes that are not broken in.

Pulpit Rock is a great place to stop, take in the scene, and eat a snack. If that is all the farther you want to go then the hike is probably about 1 hour or so depending on how long you spend at Pulpit Rock. When we were there we met some really great people and a girl that did  some yoga poses with the view. Brave lady!!!

If you continue on to the Pinnacle there are even better views there. When you are on the rocks look for the markers on the trees to guide you. You know you are getting close when you see a large pile of rocks. It’s BEAUTIFUL!!! This is another great place to sit, relax and take it all in. The trail down is much easier.

If you are bringing a dog with you (We did), just be aware that the terrain is rocky for most of the hike and is rough on a dogs paws. Keep a close eye on their paws for tenderness, swelling, and possible cuts. Make sure you bring water for them as well as treats. By the end of the hike your dog will be very tired.

There are a couple of different ways to get to the top. There is no wrong answer. Just go, have fun, and explore. The view is totally worth it.
