Bring the Light

Leave a comment Standard

It is not how far I can leave my body, it is how deep I can be in my body

This quiet journey inward has me screaming –  the discomfort, the joy

Slowly breaking through obstacles that seemed impenetrable

I’m the warrior, I’m the tiger in the jungle, I’m out for blood

This jungle is mine and I don’t care how far back I must go

How far back I must rewind, to drain the pain and feel more flow

The gift you have inside of you, the gift to know

I am intense, I am calm, I’m the destroyer setting off energetic bombs

I am the creator creating my world, painting pictures

The healing energy that derives from my palms

I’ll heal myself, I’ll heal my body

I’ll go deeper into uncharted territory

This is my life, this is my body

Deeper into darkness, I will bring the light

Three days of Yoga

Leave a comment Standard

The past few days have been pretty amazing. I got to meet a lot of cool people at three different yoga events. We went to Stone Harbor, Pitman and Mullica Hill, NJ.

Heathers mentor, Shannon, was doing a teacher training in Stone Harbor and Heather got to participate and say goodbye to some of her friends. To my surprise, Shannon wanted an aura reading. So, I got my space in the truck and went into the studio. I thought all of Shannons students would leave, but I quickly realized everyone was very curious and wanted to watch. All my sessions are usually private, so this was very different for me. Part of me felt like I was giving a performance. After finishing up the reading, I opened my eyes and her students were clapping and one girls jaw was halfway down. I had a lot of fun reading Shannon and meeting her students.

The next day we went to the Solstice Soul Fest in Pitman, NJ. That is the first outdoor yoga event that I’ve been to. I really enjoyed being apart of a large group. It’s interesting because most people I meet, they don’t like being in large crowds. Don’t get me wrong, I love being alone and having time to create, but I really do enjoy being apart of big group. I think that is why I like big cities. There is something comforting to me knowing that a lot of people are around.

After the Solstice Soul Fest, we taught our first workshop at Blissful Yoga in Mullica Hill, NJ. It was a last minute event, so we didn’t have many show up, but we still really enjoyed it. I opened with a meditation on grounding and Heather followed with a gentle warrior flow. After that I closed with a mediation on replenishing with your unique energy.

Lately, I have been doing a lot of teaching and readings over the phone, so it was nice to be able to teach in person. I like being able to do both and that is why this works so well with traveling full-time. We actually leave in a few days and will be driving to the outskirts of Chicago. I feel that things are really going to pick up. I already know I will be doing more readings and more teaching and I can’t wait!

City of Growth

Leave a comment Standard

Chicago is hands down my favorite city in the United States. I say United States simply because I have not traveled abroad yet (keyword: yet). Despite growing up near Philly, I only went into the city for concerts and sporting events, so when I moved to Chicago for art school, I experienced culture shock. The trains, busses, noise, scents, people, taxis, big buildings – they all were very much overwhelming to me. Even though it was a huge growth period for me, I fell in love with Chicago.

The city of Chicago will always be known as the city of growth to me. It is the first place I went without family or friends. It is where I learned to heal myself and gained a lot of clarity about my truth. I experienced many growth periods there and I am grateful for all of them.

I’m currently in a big growth period. My wife and I are about to leave New Jersey and head to the outskirts of Chicago. Knowing that we will be in the midwest very soon stimulates various experiences from my time there. I will never forget the time I ascended the subway and made my way to ground level, looking up at all the buildings. I felt incredibly alive. I met so many awesome people at Columbia College and later on at InVision. My experiences in Chicago have truly shaped the man I am today.

I miss the energy of Chicago. I miss the pace of life there. I miss the abundance of opportunity. I miss the sound of the trains and I miss walking out to the lake. Chicago will always hold a special place in my heart and I am excited to be see the city again very soon.

It is always interesting to return to a place you have been before. It is never quite the same because you know you have changed. I expect things will not feel the same way I did when I was last in Chicago. I do, however, anticipate more growth. I look forward to growing our brand and kicking ass. As much as I love this city, this visit is well, just a visit. When it starts to get cold, we will cary on into the unknown.

An Extraordinary Life

Leave a comment Standard

At age thirty-three, I feel as though my life is just beginning. Unlike most people, I look forward to getting older. I feel this way because I know I will continue sinking into my voice, embracing the aspects of my identity and experiencing more of my dreams.

As a clairvoyant I look at past-lives. I have looked at quite a few of mine and I have seen low lives and high lives. I’ve always had an intuition that this life was going to be very unique. In my early twenties I became very passionate about pursuing my dreams, but never sat back and thought about this life possibly being a high life.

Could I unlock all my abilities and experience all of my dreams? Could this be an extraordinary life? I never wanted to do just one thing. I’ve always been interested in singing, dancing, writing, acting, painting, travel, starting businesses, movies, modeling – the list goes on. You see the lucky few that get to do many things, that get to have a lot in life. Maybe they were born into wealth and opportunity or perhaps they worked their asses off to have what they have. I was not born into wealth, but I am driven. I know if I just keep moving forward, I will experience one dream after the next.

I think something that I will have as I reach bigger dreams is gratitude. I can only imagine that after all the pain and frustration of being stuck and then finally breaking through, I will be immensely grateful. How could I take anything for granted at that point?

I like being an entrepreneur. Despite some frustration, I do enjoy the challenge of starting a new business. I also enjoy having a home on wheels to travel full time. It is interesting because we have met numerous people since we have bought our fifth wheel RV and they have mentioned how they want to do the same at some point. We met a guy in Margate, NJ where we saw Lucy the Elephant (2nd largest elephant structure in the world) and he said, “you guys are living the dream!” It is weird to think about, but I do feel this is the beginning of MY life. It is terrifying, but I am learning to trust myself. I don’t desire or expect perfection and I’m sure there will be some setbacks, but I do believe life is just going to get and better and better. In those last few moments before I die, I want to smile thinking, holy shit – that was one crazy life.

Sure my life has seemed pretty crazy prior to this moment, but something is different now. I feel a change. I feel like I have taken ownership of my life. I feel the freedom and I don’t intend on wasting it. This life is extraordinary.

Starting Yoga

Leave a comment Standard

The first time I tried yoga was in college. I think I did it maybe one more time after and that was it. It just wasn’t really my thing. I did, however, get into meditation. I really enjoyed it and it seemed to come natural for me. Eventually I started teaching meditation and one of the places I taught a series at was a yoga studio. The owner was trying to get me to take a class and I just wasn’t having it. I already tried it and it just wasn’t for me.

Aside from the not feeling yoga the first time around, I’ve always had a strong resistance to it. If I was going to do something physical I preferred going for a run or throwing some gloves on and hitting a bag. Now that my wife is teaching yoga, I have seen how it has impacted her, not just physically, but her energy as well. I see a stronger woman, all around. Lately, she has been teaching me yoga and yesterday was the first day I felt strong. It felt good, but that is not how I was feeling the first few times she taught me. My body felt very uncomfortable and oddly enough I was getting really angry. Most of the time it would subside and I would feel more at peace at the end.

Aside from flexibility, strength and balance, I see yoga as a way of moving out pain and foreign energy to bring your own energy in to replace it. Essentially you are going deeper into your body. As I am getting more accustom to yoga I am able to use my clairvoyance with it. It will be interesting to see what chakras are impacted by certain poses that we do.

Starting yoga was not something I expected, but that seems to be a theme in my life as of lately. It’s nice to be able to not only surprise others, but surprise yourself. I just want to continue to become more healthy and to get better at being present.

Raise your Flag

Leave a comment Standard

I have a anarchy tattoo on my face and my wife cusses like a sailor. We are a little edgy and I like that about us. After all, our brand name is – Souls Gone Wild. We decided to create our own unique path and here we are, traveling and teaching in a RV. This blog may offend people, but the intention is to bring inspiration. My eBook, Slaves to Society, is designed to light people up. It is suppose to get you thinking  about what you want to pursue and why you aren’t going after it. But yeah, it is very raw and vulgar. I just started a new book which will be about our adventures on the road. That too, will be filled with sarcasm, humor, creativity and vulgarity. Eventually I would like to create a book on meditation and most may think that it should be very proper, clean and professional. Nope, I will also keep it real with that too. There are plenty of boring books on spirituality already out there.

I think people appreciate realness, but I do recognize with my voice and content, people will either love it or hate it and I am completely okay with it. I don’t create for others. I create for myself. That is how I keep myself happy. Look at music. Bands evolve over time and so can their style. Fans tend to get upset about this, but in the end it is the musicians music, not the fans. There will always be someone who will love your art and those who will hate it.

I have a great affinity for self expression and embracing my identity. One of the best feelings I can’t think of is being myself. Often I’ve felt that I’ve had to tune everything down. Well, it is time to turn up the volume! It’s time to raise the flag on the pirate ship and show who I really am. Some might think, geez Andrew, are you coming out of the closet or something? Haha – no. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but no, I’ve just always felt I couldn’t be intense, or edgy or say what is on my mind. I’ve felt that I’ve had to hold it all back. That my friends is not healthy. Hoist your freak flag and be proud of you, and those that don’t like it – fuck em.

Biggest Damn Growth Period

Leave a comment Standard

The beauty of living in a RV is that if plans change, which they often do, we can easily accommodate those changes. When we lived in one place, we could only focus on the area that we lived in. With our house on wheels, if we get an opportunity, we just hookup our truck to the fifth wheel and head out.

Well, our plans have changed. Originally, we were going to go to Massachusetts, however, Heather got a job as a yoga teacher in Illinois. Pretty awesome, right? I actually found a spiritual store not far from where she will be teaching where I might have the possibility of doing readings and energy work there. That’s what I did for a while when I lived in Wilmington, NC years ago.

We are still figuring things out as we go. It’s not always easy starting over, especially when you had something that was a success and let it go. I’m happy to be on the road though. I’m ready to teach more, have more adventures and share my experiences with others.

This is the biggest damn growth period I have been in. And well, it should be. I wouldn’t want to walk through life learning and growing less. If I want to have more, then growth is my best friend. I’m green as they come now. Living in a RV and teaching clairvoyance – it is rocking my world! Where once I was comfortable, I am no longer. I am bathing in the unknown.

My wife read some quote from online the other day and it said that the best things in life make you fat, drunk and pregnant. I actually had a few beers the other day and I was quickly reminded why I quit drinking. It took a full day for me to clear my head. I didn’t like it. Sex and food – I totally get those, haha! But, on a serious note, I think the best things in life are those that scare the shit out of us. I know what scares the shit out of me, but if I allow myself to push past the fear, I always feel so proud of myself and happy.

What makes you afraid? If you overcome the fear, what is on the other side?
