Most people tend to full-time RV when they are retired. Not us. What really helped propel us into this new life style is our passion for adventure and of course selling our dog walking business. No we are not rich, not even close. Hell, we don’t even have a savings. Yes, we have a new business, but we only make a little money from that. Some months for Souls Gone Wild are really good and others are not. That is just the truth at the moment. What allows us to keep on moving are our other jobs.
My wife and I both teach English online. Heather teaches Chinese children through the platform called VIPKID. I teach on Cambly which allows me to meet people from all around the world. To boil it down, I basically get paid to talk and listen. It is simple and I love it. I log online and wait for incoming calls. Most people want to just talk and some want to go over specific English lessons. When I am not taking a call, I try to relax, edit our youtube videos or work on a blog. What is great about our jobs is that we are both self employed. We can create our own work schedule which works really well when we have travel or adventure days. While these jobs provide a lot of freedom and we enjoy them, they are still jobs. They keep us on the road, but eventually we would love for our youtube channel and blog to take off.
I was really hoping for a smooth transition from our dog walking business to teaching yoga & meditation. It has not been that easy. We have had some awesome months and some difficult months. But, we are still here… in the middle of a desert – haha! We love traveling and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else than where we are now. I love traveling full-time. I love the fact that this winter we are not going to have to just deal with the cold. As a matter of fact, we will be in southern California where I greatly look forward to riding four-wheelers out in the sand dunes. Fuck yeah!
The goal is to keep traveling and teaching English, yoga and meditation. We don’t really have a “plan” and that is what is such a relief. We are really learning as we go. With that, I have to ask – what are you current goals? What are you currently learning in life?
Find Your Freedom,
Andrew
