Patience: Playing the Long Game

When I was in my early twenties I was lucky enough to learn a lot about my identity, dreams and truth. BUT, just because I had that awareness and certainty did not mean I had everything figured out…

When I was younger and was pursuing my independence and / or dreams, I had the idea in my head that it really wasn’t going to take very long to achieve my goals. Well, I was very wrong, haha. I always knew I had to go after a dream, but because of my naivety, when I would fail at something I would simply move on to the next thing. It took me a while to realize that it didn’t matter what I chose to pursue – I had to be committed and needed PATIENCE.

This is where I am at. I’m playing the long game. I am being patient. What I am working on is growing slowly, but I know that if I keep doing it, keep improving – walls are going to get knocked down and I will get to where I want to be. I’m okay with this. In society we tend to think that well if you hit a certain age and you haven’t achieved what you wanted then forget it. Not me. What I am trying to work on is just enjoying the process, just enjoying the journey. The moment you achieve your goal may not be very long, but the time it takes to reach your goal could take months and even years. I want to make sure I am happy in the process and not just at the finish line. To be honest though, isn’t a finish line just a new beginning?

I’m becoming wiser and stronger. A few of my greatest teachers are meditation, relationships and life experience. I’m learning when I am failing. I have a high permission level to fail. This is my secret to cultivating success. Holding onto perfect pictures sometimes will lead to an inevitable explosion. Perfection doesn’t exist, especially when you are aiming high in life. The path to success is quite messy. My life is a beautiful mess. It is not for anyone else to understand, but myself.

My perspective is shifting and I am seeing my life differently. I looked more at it as a race to a finish line. Now I see it more as an adventure, a series of mountains that I am climbing. I look forward to climbing these mountains, as much as standing on the peaks. What I am most excited about though, is right here, right now. Present time. That feeling that life isn’t good if I’m not at the finish line isn’t a good way to live. Becoming wiser and acquiring patience is what brings me peace. It helps me find the here and now.

3 Months of Dream Journaling

I have been dream journaling for three months now and it has really helped with my ability to remember my dreams. One might ask, why do you even want to remember your dreams? Well, my main intention for it is to have lucid dreams. What are lucid dreams you ask? It’s a good question because most people do not know what a lucid dream is. It is when you know you are dreaming while you are in a dream. Essentially you wake up in your dream. Pretty cool right?  So, how does dream journaling help with lucid dreaming?

Prior to recording my dreams, I usually did not remember any of my dreams upon awakening. After three months of dream journaling though, now I can remember at least 1-6 dreams per 7-9 hours of sleep. Having a dream journal helps with shining a light on your dream space. Most people don’t think they even dream at night because they can’t remember. If you start recording dreams, you will start to increase your dream recall ability. This helps with bringing awareness to your dream space and having awareness in this particular aspect of your life is exactly what lucid dreaming is all about.

Dreams can be very bizarre, yet as strange as they can be, we don’t question them. Well, what if you did start to question them? What if you asked yourself, “am I dreaming?” Two things could happen, you could somehow convince yourself that everything is normal and carry on as normal or you may realize that of course, it just a dream. That is when you begin having a lucid dream. From that point on you have the potential of controlling your dream.

For most, lucid dreaming seems to be uncommon. Most people I have talked to about it don’t know what it is and never had the experience. To my surprise though I have come across a few people that lucid dream a few times a month or even a few times a week. I personally had one lucid dream when I was younger which was spontaneous. Just recently during my three months of dream journaling and practice, I have had one solid lucid dream. So it seems dream journaling isn’t necessary to lucid dream, but it can certainly help.

For me this is a process of waking up. I love clarity. I love to be aware. I love to know my truth. My journey with clairvoyance has helped me greatly with this in the past. It is also helping me with my journey in lucid dreaming & astral projection. I am very excited with this next part of my spiritual journey. I have a lot of goals with achieving out of body experiences and having lucid dreams and I can’t wait to share that with others. I am also eager to see how this will impact me as a creator; with my writing, filming, music and more.

Pigeonholed?

Something I have been noticing lately is that YouTubers are becoming irritated about becoming pigeonholed. They create a successful channel and suddenly they have a certain label or are stuck in a certain category. It works for a while, but then they start getting bored of the content they are creating. So, what do you they do? They go and start a whole new channel. It’s not to say that this doesn’t work or has never worked, but why the fuck don’t you just keep your channel that is already successful and just create playlists?

I understand why people create a niche. It makes it easier for people to know what they are subscribing to – I get it. But most people don’t want to get stuck with that one label or only be able to create content in one small category. Content creators have more than one interest and most likely have different skillsets. We like to express ourselves in different ways. I think this idea that we need to pick one thing and stick with it and that is all we can do or have is bullshit. I love having a YouTube Channel because some days I wake up I want to create a comedy video and other days I want to create an adventure video. 

Contrary to belief, people will watch you even if your video isn’t in 4K or isn’t edited to perfection. What I notice is that people subscribe because they like the creators personality. I watch a guy on youtube who does chewing tobacco reviews. I don’t use tobacco products, but I think he is funny. Thats why i watch. That is why I’m subscribed. Sure, that type of content you are creating definitely has an impact on why people are watching, but it is not the only reason. 

Even if you have a successful channel, getting people to subscribe to your new channel can be difficult. It takes time to build. Maybe not as long as you first channel, but it will take time. In my opinion, why don’t you just keep one channel and create different playlists for different types of content you are creating. It’s easy to manage and promote one channel. I’m sure there are a few good reasons why to have more than one channel, but I think for most it would be easier to utilize what you already have established. 

I struggle with this idea. The idea that we have to pick only one thing and do that. I understand the importance of commitment, but why can’t we work on numerous things in life? Why can’t I work on comedy, music, a podcast, a book, etc? I have more than one interest, more than one passion, more than one skill… The thought of only doing one thing the rest of my life sounds incredibly boring. 

What I love about the time period we are in now is that we have the ability to build our own audience. No longer do we have to go to an audition to be on a show. We can create our own fucking show. Maybe its a podcast, maybe its a show on youtube. You have always wanted to be a writer? Start your own blog! Sure, it might not be an easy path, but you can’t at least do it. There are more possibilities now. There are fewer limitations. And perhaps instead of limiting our selves as content creators, we don’t have to subscribe to the idea of being pigeonholed and just create content that we want to create. Viewers will eventually understand that every video might not be exactly what they are looking for. No problem, they can tune in another day.

the Importance of Dreaming

I have the opportunity to speak to people from all around the world almost everyday. At some point in my conversations I always like to ask – what are your dreams? Some people will tell me what they are and others say they don’t have any dreams… I don’t buy it. I think we all have dreams, small or big, I think we all have them, but might not be aware of them. Some people think they don’t have dreams when they sleep. Well actually, you are most likely having numerous dreams throughout the night, but again, you may just not remember. 

I have an obsession with dreams; day dreams, sleeping dreams and the dreams in which you pursue in your life. I think a lot of people may believe that day dreaming is just a natural phenomena that occurs, but has no use whatsoever. I disagree. Day Dreaming for me is a way in which I generate new ideas that aide in my creative process. What about sleeping dreams? What if you could wake up in your dreams and know you are dreaming, while in the dream? Some call this dream yoga and others may call this lucid dreaming. It is actually scientifically proven. Aside from having fun, some say lucid dreaming can be used to heal yourself and to work on new skills. I am still new to lucid dreaming so the fun part I fully understand, however, I have not had enough experiences to use lucid dreams for healing and personal growth. I kind of get it though… What if you were having a nightmare in your sleep and suddenly realized it was simply a bad dream you were having? Once you become aware, then you can change what is happening. You can end the nightmare. For those who experience recurring nightmares, this would be huge. You can apply this to regular life too. Perhaps you are unhappy, I mean very unhappy. Maybe it has to do with a certain aspect of your life. What if what you were doing had nothing to do with your truth? What if you were just living someone else’s expectation? After a while that could certainly start to feel like a nightmare. Now what if you start to realize that and start to make changes? What if you start to move in a new direction, a direction of authenticity? Perhaps now you are seeing the similarities with sleeping dreams & dreams  your pursue…

Some people say they don’t have dreams for this life. I disagree. It can be simple, small or a massive dream – but it is there, waiting for you to wake up to it. For some reason it seems we are led to believe that because we don’t remember our dreams (while asleep or for your life) then we just don’t have any. And sometimes for those that do have an awareness of the dream they want to pursue feel as though it isn’t a real possibility. I disagree. 

I have been learning how to lucid dream for over two months now and it is not easy. I have been pursuing my dreams since I was about twenty-three. Again, it is not easy. I think they are important though. I think they are the reasons we are here. Dreams are highly desired experiences we crave. Your purpose? Well perhaps it has to do with the WHY you want to have these particular experiences? What will you learn from these experiences? How might you share your wisdom with the world?

Latest thoughts on Lucid Dreaming vs Astral Projection

Okay so I recently uploaded a podcast about my latest theory in regards to lucid dreaming and astral projection. In a previous blog I wrote on how I think they are essentially the same, but thought that the approach was different. Anyway, as I like to keep an open mind throughout this journey and with that said – my thoughts have changed about this subject. 

I can’t remember but in a recent blog or podcast I mentioned that there are three factors in which I believe that will affect your experience:

  1. how conscious are you?
  2. are you a point of light or do you have a fully formed astral body?
  3. where are you on the astral?

After further research and looking at this clairvoyantly, I think that I am missing another factor:

  1. Are you in a dream?

Regardless of lucid dreaming or astral projection, I have always thought you were out of body, but now I do see more of a difference between these two and that is the last factor – are you in a dream? 

What I think is that when you are leaving your body to go dream, you generate a dream through intention which then forms into a mental image picture and then once you are out onto the astral it manifests into a dream. I think with lucid dreaming, you are simply just aware you are in a dream, but perhaps not fully conscious that you are in a dream ON the astral. So of course this goes back to the first factor. 

I imagine though the experience of being in a dream on the astral vs just being out on the astral is a different experience. The interesting thing here is that while you are in a lucid dream, what if you just dissolve the dream and end up on the astral? Some people report using lucid dreams to go back to their body during sleep paralysis then relaunch into the astral. I have also heard of someone being in a lucid dream and just ending or dissolving the dream to just be out on the astral. 

Anyway, these are my latest thoughts on these subjects. I will continue to keep an open mind throughout this journey as i gain more experience, do more research and look at it all clairvoyantly.
